Things have been absolutely CRAZY at my gym this week! The reason being is that we were featured on Groupon.com Monday at it was awesome.
The picture to the left is the last shot I had on my computer but we sold 504 month memberships to my bootcamp!
We had over 350 phone calls, 65+ comments on our wall, almost 100 new email list subscribers, and the list goes on and on!
You would expect this post to be all about the money I made but it’s not. In this post i am going to tell why Groupon and services like it are some of the best marketing dollars you can spend!
If you listened to my last podcast you understand that the secret to personal training business success is the fact that I have a people first understanding of my business. I know that if I take care of my clients that I will never hurt for money.
On Monday when we were featured on Groupon I went in at the 3rd highest price point offered in my city to date. It was amazing the response we had considering this was not a massage but a commitment of someone’s time and effort understanding that it is not going to be easy!
The reason I was so excited on Monday was the community response that I received, not the fact that we made money. I have 504 opportunities to prove to these people that our program is awesome and above all else, jump start their fitness and change their life.
My business rocks and is profitable without even 1 of these people so it is really just bonus if we get conversions, which we will. But the outpouring of support and excitement for my brand is enormous!
On the business side of things, I had well over 2000 hits to my website in one day (my town is 50,000 people). Facebook in my community was all about us. My wife’s nail girl called to ask what was going on because every one at her salon was talking about us and facebook was solid “Did you see Edmond Bootcamp is having a deal?”
In addition, i also made some great business and corporate membership contacts with entire offices signing up together and I landed a speaking engagement speaking along side Danny Cahill, winner of the biggest loser.
The great thing about this whole process, is that it cost me nothing out of pocket. Groupon takes 50% f the purchase, but honestly guys, that’s money you never had. If you want to call it buying a list ok, but you rare buying the BEST list of people who are programmed to buy every single day!
It cost me nothing, I made 9k in one day, I have 504 new client opportunities, tons of traffic and some of the best contacts and speaking engagements around. It has been an awesome experience.
I will tell you that the secret to my success is my systems and my amazing staff. We are running 9 camps a day and 44 a week. up from 22 to accommodate my influx. My customer experience is preplanned and thought out in advance and everything is for a reason. People come in, get funneled through from paperwork to orientation to workout.
Chaos is honestly the word right now but from the outside t looks like we meant to. This is huge for your first impression and your expert status. being flustered or unprepared takes you down a notch in the prospects eyes.
